Photo from a postcard sent on 26 July 1907 to Mrs W A Spalding, Dudley Lodge, The Park, Nottingham. "Mrs W A Spalding" is Lilian Mitchell, Shirley's sister. The annotation on the postcard made by Alice Mitchell is simply "Great Grandma and Great Grandma". It does not say who the other two are in the photo. The postcard, written by Shirley Charles Cameron Mitchell (who signed himself "S.C.C.M") says : All being well I have arranged to ride down to Nottingham with Mr Phipps starting somewhere about 10th September. How do you like this group which I took on Sunday. Best love from both to you and DW [?]".
